Artist and founder of Tiny Arms Ceramics, Kate Cutlip, is focused on creating special vessels for specialty coffees. Since 2019, Tiny Arms Ceramics has continued to grow alongside its counterpart, Tiny Arms Coffee, with both businesses operating out of Lowell, Massachusetts. One of Tiny Arms core values is sustainability, and with the coffee industry not necessarily being a sustainable one, they are actively trying to minimize waste and make better choices for the environment.
This deeply rooted concern and care for the planet is obvious in the Tiny Arms Ceramics designs. Works are hand-thrown and hand-painted, giving each piece its own unique quality. Interiors and handles are glazed, exteriors are mostly unglazed with painted glossy glaze details. Coffee mugs and espresso cups are decorated with subjects based in nature, ranging from fruits to Hendrick's Head Lighthouse in Southport - custom-created for the Southport General Store! Shining strawberries, lupines, lobsters, and blueberries stand out against the matte surface of each piece and serve as reminders to appreciate the environment that allows us to enjoy cup of coffee in the first place.
